the quiet strength of women healing together

today is international women’s day, and i’ve been thinking a lot about the kind of strength that doesn’t always get recognized.

not the loud, celebratory kind — although that matters too.

i’m talking about the quieter kind.

the kind of strength it takes for a woman to sit in a therapy room and say, “i think i need help.”

the kind it takes to acknowledge that something in your life — a relationship, a memory, a pattern — has been hurting you longer than you realized.

the strength it takes to start healing.

over the years, i’ve had the privilege of witnessing women do some of the bravest work imaginable. women navigating trauma, rebuilding their sense of self after difficult relationships, learning to trust again, learning to set boundaries, learning that their needs matter.

and one thing has always stood out to me:

healing becomes more powerful when women don’t have to do it alone.

so many of the women i work with arrive feeling isolated in their experiences. they believe their struggles are something they should be able to “handle” on their own. many have spent years being the strong one for everyone else — the caretaker, the fixer, the reliable one.

but healing isn’t meant to happen in isolation.

when women come together — in therapy, in support, in honest conversations — something shifts.

there’s recognition.there’s understanding.there’s relief in realizing “it’s not just me.”

that shared understanding can be incredibly powerful.

it reminds us that healing isn’t about perfection. it’s about growth, self-awareness, and slowly reconnecting with the parts of ourselves that may have been buried beneath stress, trauma, or years of putting others first.

the growth collective was created with that idea in mind.

a space where women can step out of survival mode and begin reconnecting with themselves — with their strength, their voice, and their capacity for change.

today, on international women’s day, i’m grateful for the women who have trusted me with their stories, and for the reminder that when women support each other’s healing, incredible things can happen.

if you’re on a healing journey right now — or thinking about starting one — know that you’re not alone.

and that your growth matters.
