in loving memory of
Melanie Ann Curran
This practice is dedicated to the life and legacy of Melanie Ann Curran (June 10, 1964 – May 14, 2016).
She was a steady, compassionate presence—someone who believed in those who struggled to believe in themselves.
She was a devoted guidance counselor, a valued colleague, and a source of comfort and support to many.
A Way of Being With Others
Melanie had a rare ability to listen without judgment and to offer guidance with warmth, clarity, and care. She met students where they were, holding space for both their struggles and their potential. Melanie listened with her whole heart. She met students without judgment, offering understanding rather than assumptions and support rather than answers. In moments of uncertainty, pain, or transition, she created a sense of safety that allowed people to speak freely and feel less alone.

The Difference She Made
The impact of Melanie’s work extended far beyond academic guidance. She supported students through some of the most formative and difficult moments of their lives, helping them navigate challenges with dignity and hope. Her belief in others often arrived before they could believe in themselves—and that belief stayed with them long after they left her office.
A Lasting Legacy
Melanie’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched. The care she offered, the trust she built, and the steadiness she embodied continue to ripple outward—shaping how people move through the world, how they support others, and how they hold space in moments that matter most.

Honoring Her Values
This dedication exists in recognition of the kind of work that often goes unseen but is never unfelt: listening deeply, meeting people with compassion, and showing up consistently with integrity and care.
